The City of Dates is one of the most prominent urban economic and tourist attractions in the city of Buraydah. It is an integrated city with a modern design that was established by the Qassim Municipality to serve the dates sector and related projects, and it was designed to display and sell the dates for which the city of Buraydah and the Qassim region are known for.
The City of Dates and its facilities are located on the southern side of the city of Buraydah, on an area exceeding 200,000 square metres, and it is considered the largest market for dates commercial and industrial derivatives in the Kingdom and the world, and it was equipped with all the main facilities and logistical services to serve the dates sector, such as a date auction arena, specialized laboratories, and shipping services. The Palm Center, which includes a retail mall for dates, is considered a major facility for marketing dates and its services, in addition to being surrounded by dozens of date centers and shops, and the city annually hosts the Buraidah International Dates Carnival, which is held during the date harvest season and receives the production of approximately 11 million palm trees.
Also adjacent to the City of Dates is the new Buraidah Vegetable Market, “Food City”, which was recently built on a large area and with a modern design.
