Mutaziz is considered one of the most famous traditional dishes in Buraydah and one of the main heritage meals closely associated with the local community across generations. The dish became widely known due to its reliance on ingredients derived from the agricultural products for which Buraydah and its fertile environment are well recognized.
Mutaziz is prepared using whole wheat dough that is cut and flattened into small thick discs, then cooked with lamb or camel meat along with a variety of vegetables. A selection of local spices is added, with hot chili included according to preference.
To this day, Mutaziz remains an essential part of the traditional dining table and is now widely served in many restaurants and hotels as one of the dishes that reflects the culinary and cultural identity of Buraydah and the Qassim region.
